Common misconceptions in the skincare world revealed, experts call for scientific skincare

In the pursuit of beauty and skin health, many people want to find the shortcut to perfect skin. However, in the age of information explosion, there is a wide array of skincare methods and products available, with some misleading information leading many consumers to fall into skincare misconceptions. Recently, in an interview, dermatologist Dr. Zhang highlighted several common skincare misconceptions and called on the public to adopt a scientific and rational approach to skincare.

Myth 1: Frequent exfoliation, smoother skin?

Dr. Zhang pointed out that moderate exfoliation can help remove aging keratinocytes, promote skin metabolism, and make the skin smoother and more delicate. However, frequent exfoliation can damage the skin's natural barrier, leading to thinning, sensitivity and even inflammation. He suggested that, according to individual skin type and seasonal changes, generally 1-2 times a week exfoliation can be, sensitive skin should reduce the frequency of exfoliation.

Myth 2: natural ingredients must be safe and harmless?

With consumers' pursuit of natural, healthy skin care concepts, many natural ingredients are widely used in skin care products. However, Dr. Zhang reminds that not all natural ingredients are suitable for everyone's skin, and some may even trigger allergic reactions. He emphasizes that when choosing skincare products, one should focus on the overall formulation and safety assessment of the product rather than simply pursuing natural ingredients.

Myth 3: The more expensive the skincare product, the better?

Price often becomes an important criterion for consumers to measure the quality of skincare products. However, Dr. Cheung said that the effectiveness of skincare products does not depend entirely on price, but is closely related to the product's ingredients, formulation, applicable skin type and other factors. He suggests that consumers in the choice of skin care products, should be based on their own skin type and needs, choose cost-effective products, to avoid the blind pursuit of high prices.

Experts call for: scientific skin care, from the understanding of their own skin type to start!

In response to the above misconceptions, Dr. Zhang called on the public to establish a correct concept of skin care, scientific skin care. He suggests, first of all, to understand their own skin type, choose the right skincare products for themselves; secondly, to follow the correct skincare steps and frequency, to avoid excessive skincare; and finally, to maintain good living habits and dietary habits, from the inside to the outside of the care of the skin's health.

"Skincare is not a simple thing, it requires us to understand and take care of our skin with all our heart." Dr. Zhang said, "Only by mastering scientific skincare methods can we have healthy and beautiful skin."

Through this revelation, we hope that consumers will be able to recognize the misconceptions about skin care and adopt a scientific and reasonable skin care approach to make their skin glow naturally.
